Stableford

Points against par on every hole. A blow-up costs you zero points, not your round.

How it works

  1. Play each hole and compare with par, after your strokes if it's net.

  2. Bogey 1, par 2, birdie 3, eagle 4, albatross 5. Double bogey or worse is 0.

  3. Add up your points.

  4. Highest total wins.

Scoring

  • Net Stableford spreads your playing handicap over the hardest holes by stroke index.
  • Set a handicap allowance for net, from 0 to 100%.
  • Once a hole can't score a point, it's worth 0 however many shots it takes.
  • Ties go to the back nine, then the last six, last three and last hole, then the front nine.
  • Change any point value to play Modified Stableford.

Standard points

An 8 on the par 5 scores zero, the same as a double bogey. The birdie on the 3rd is worth 3, and the round is back on track: 6 points through 4.

Questions

What is Modified Stableford?

The same game with different points, often with minus points for bad holes. Edit the point values and Scuds scores it.

How do team formats work?

Four-ball counts the best points on the team each hole. Aggregate adds up everyone's points. Best N counts the top N scores on each hole.

Should I pick up?

Once you can't score a point on a hole, picking up changes nothing and speeds everyone up.

Who wins a tie?

Scuds counts back: the back nine first, then the last six, last three and last hole, then the front nine.
